Men's Seven Jeans - Slouchy Detroit

When you are talking about jeans, you can't ignore Seven Jeans (7 for all Mankind, that is). They offer all of the usual suspects when it comes to fit - standard, bootcut, relaxed, slouchy ... and a bunch of stlyes that are uniquely Seven Jeans - namely Blade Runner, Dylan, No Break and Crop & Roll (which, in my opinion hasn't been a good look for straight guys since the Fonz), just to name a few.

The most interesting part of the offerings from Seven are the color choices. It's a guy thing - I can't always tell you which style I like or which fit looks best on me - but it's pretty safe to assume we all know what colors we like, at least when we see them. Seven offers everything from "Salt Lake City" (super-light, almost white) to something they call "Toledo" (which is about as dark blue as you can get)and a really great variety in between - like "Seattle", "Melbourne", Big Sur" ... you get the picture - go take a look for yourself.

My favorite? The Seven Jeans Slouchy in Detroit. OK, so I can't really tell you how they fit (yet), but I know for sure that if I walked into the store, these would be the jeans that spoke to me - heck, I might even try 'em on. Besides the color, I like the subtle detailing on the back pockets as well as the (new vocabulary word alert!) Pinching: those faded wrinkles where the thighs meet your , um, torso - as well as the look given by the slight abraision on the fabric.

Seven (7 for all mankind) Mens' Jean will run you anywhere from $148 - $209.
The Slouchy in Detroit wieghs in at a cool $165.

Mens Diesel Jeans - The Diesel Zathan

Ready for an upgrade to that first pair of designer jeans? Start with a solid pair from Diesel - The Zathan. It is by far their most popular and most sought after pair of men's jeans. OK, sure - you don't want to follow the pack, I get it... that's exactly what theose levi's you have been wearing since your senior year at Junior College are saying about you right now.

All Things Diesel

We are easing into this, guys ... work with me. OK, deep breath ... the Diesel Zathan is gonna run you about $219.50 at Universal Gear. (You may be able to save a few bucks if you scour the internet - but time is money, and UG is a reputible online merchant that I am comfortable with)

Sound like a lot of cash for jeans? Money well spent, my friends. The women will think you actually have a clue, Diesel Jeans look great on eveyone, and you can tell your classless friends that they wouldn't know a nice pair of Italin jeans if they bit them on the ... you get my drift.

Tip: Compare prices on the Diesel Zathan Jeans here.

$1288 Jeans from Mastermind Japan - Are you kidding me?

Jeans for over $1000? For real? What planet are we on?

Let's hope that if you have that kind of dough to shell out for a pair of dungerees that you at least made a handful of charitable donations prior to your purchase.

Don't get me wrong, I do understand that it's not always appropriate to slap on a pair of Wranglers, but dang! So what if they have (and I quote)...

"High-rise waistline - Hidden buttons - Multipockets - Straight leg cut - Slashed detailing - Studs - Embroidered logo"...

... they also have a freaking hole in 'em and what I can only assume is overspray from a subway tagging gone horribly wrong.

SHOP.COM

You can get 5 Pair of expensive - but almost worth it - Diesel jeans for that price (or enough sale priced Gap jeans to keep you from having to do laundry for well over a month)

All I can say, is if you have these, or want these the money would be much better spent on therapy.

Check 'em out at Shop For Clothes ... you be the judge $1000 Mastermind Japan Jeans

Good. Honest. Jeans. The Gap.

Gap jeans seem to be the best place to start this blog about men's Jeans. Not that there's anything wrong with a solid pair of Levi's - it's just that a pair from the Gap feels like a good introduction to taking that jeans-and-t shirt-look to the next level.

Always simple, always stylish Gap Jeans. Offered in just a handful of colors and styles it makes shopping easy. It's a guy thing. Lets make this easy.

Styles:

Standard Fit,Loose Fit, Boot Fit (Boot Cut, Easy Fit, Slim Straight, Low Rise Fit, Tolland, Hayes, Relaxed, Baggy.

Don't be scared. The good news, it once you find a style (or two), it's yours to keep.

Personally, I'm a boot cut or regular kind of guy .

They also come in a handful of colors and some great pre-worn looks. I have avoided light colored jeans since the 80's, but a good worn in looking pair can give you just the right contrast with a dark shirt without out feeling like you stepped in a time machine, or are wearing and over-coordinated, almost work-uniform type look.

Bonuses: Gap jeans are ...

reasonably priced (top end about $60)

Always have a pair or 2 on sale. ($29.99 or so)

Generously cut (I'm a comfortable 34 at the Gap - but my levi's should probably be a 36, I just refuse to give in)
